The mixer basically consists of two conical portions and a center cylindrical shell. The cone blenders provided withfixed baffles inside the drum. The double cone blender is an highly efficient machine for powder / powder mixing. Themain drum is coupled to suitable motor through a oil filled gear box mounted on a sturdy frame structure. Highestcapacity models are provided with butterfly valve on one side.An optional charging hopper of 60 Ltrs capacity is provided with suitable clamping arrangement for charging the materialinto the drum.The double cone blenders are available from 5 kgs of R&D purposes to 500 Kgs for larger scaleproductions. Granulation Line:- Double Cone Blender is a conventional mixer suitable for dry powder mixing. A ribbon blender consists of a U-shaped horizontal troughcontaining a double helical ribbon agitator that rotates within. Theagitator’s shaft is positioned in the centre of the trough and haswelded spokes on which the helical ribbons (also known as spirals)are welded. Since the ribbon agitator consists of a set of inner andouter helical ribbons, it is referred to as a “double” helical ribbonagitator. The gap between the ribbon’s outer edge and the internalwall of the container ranges from 3 to 6 mm depending on theapplication. Figure 1 shows internal and external ribbon spirals onthe agitator shaft located with the blender container.The ribbon agitator is powered by a drive system comprised of amotor, gearbox, and couplingsThe charging of material in the blender is generally through nozzlesor feed-hoppers mounted on the top cover of the blender. The inlet cover also provides maintenance and cleaning access to the insideof the blender. An external jacket can also be provided on theblender container for applications which require heating or coolingof product material
